Welcome to the Election Office
The bi-partisan Choctaw County Election Board is comprised of three members appointed by the State Election Board: Kimberly Needham, Chairman; Randy Skinner, Vice-Chairman; and Debbra Streun, Secretary. The Board also includes two alternate members: Sydney Grout and Kaye Rigney. The Secretary is responsible for hiring an Assistant Secretary and temporary staff, as needed, to conduct elections. The Secretary is the administrative officer of the County Election Board and has general supervisory authority over all precinct officials and absentee voting board members within the county. The County Election Board Secretary, with support from the Assistant Secretary, is responsible for conducting federal, state, municipal, and school elections in Choctaw County and for maintaining voter registration and absentee voting records in accordance with state law. The Secretary is also responsible for conducting candidate filing for county, municipal, and school board elections, as applicable.
Other general administration duties of the County Election Board Secretary include preparing the annual budget in coordination with the County Budget Board and County Commissioners, securing polling places, conducting post-election audits (as directed by the Secretary of the State Election Board), and implementing all policies and procedures as required by law.
The County Election Board office is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended office hours during elections, as well as candidate filing and contest periods.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register to vote in Oklahoma?
You can register online, by mail, or in person. The deadline to register (or to change your registration by mail or online) is 25 days before an election. If you register after that deadline, you won’t be eligible to vote in that election.
Where and when do I vote on Election Day?
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day in Oklahoma. Your assigned polling location depends on where you live.
What identification do I need to vote in person?
You must show proof of identity when voting in person. Acceptable ID includes things like an Oklahoma driver's license, state ID, U.S. passport, or other government-issued ID with your name and photo.
How do I update my name, address, or political affiliation?
You can update your voter registration online using the OK Voter Portal, or by submitting a new registration form to the Choctaw County Election Office.
Can I vote early?
Yes. Oklahoma offers early in-person voting at the county election board office and possibly other locations in the county in the days before Election Day.
What if I received an Address Confirmation Notice in the mail?
Some registered voters receive address confirmation notices. These confirm that your registration address is current. If you don’t respond, your registration could become inactive after a set period.
What if I lost my Voter ID card?
Contact the Choctaw County Election Office or use the OK Voter Portal to request a replacement. Your Voter ID card shows your precinct and polling place and can be used as identification when voting.
How do I vote by mail (absentee ballot)?
Any voter in Oklahoma can request an absentee ballot. There are specific forms and deadlines for requesting and returning ballots. The ballot envelope must be notarized or witnessed as required.
What if I want to cancel a voter registration?
If someone has moved out of Oklahoma, is deceased, or no longer wants to be registered, a “Request to Cancel Voter Registration” form can be submitted to the County Election Board.
